How To Be In Your Soft Feminine Energy

Do you feel like a fraud when trying to portray a feminine exterior? Do you have the look but not the feel of a feminine woman? Have you been called defensive or even masculine?  This article may just have the answer.

Femininity comes in different forms, and is not a one size fits all. Yet, no matter which feminine energy you desire to embody, it is crucial to focus on the inner feminine to then effortlessly showcase the outer feminine. The power of soft feminine energy comes from the strength to challenge what we have adopted as a society to be the look of a strong individual by embracing our ability to showcase qualities such as empathy, sensitivity and discernment. In this article we will discuss different aspects that come with soft femininity and how you can adopt them into your life.

THE ART OF EMPATHY

Cultivating compassion, being able to listen to different perspectives and understanding the experiences of others, are all traits of an empath. This is important considering that empathy fosters nurturing and caring behaviours often related to femininity. Although not everyone may be able to notice the change in tone or slight gestures which indicate discomfort, it is a trait that can always be practiced.

Empathy also requires some receptivity, which is all about being open to new ideas. This is significant as it helps you open up to different perspectives and possible collaboration. Whilst this may be hard at first, especially for those with a wounded feminine energy who tend to be more defensive, being able to differentiate between disrespect and constructive criticism shows emotional intelligence through the ability to self-reflect and can be exercised through practicing active listening, being curious and embracing feedback. Femininity is not about people-pleasing but instead about understanding and harnessing the power of self- reflection and self-regulation in order to improve and enhance all of your relationships- especially the one with yourself.

THE ART OF SENSITIVITY

An important lesson in femininity is being able to accept that people will hurt you. You will feel heartache and heartbreak, but you must still choose to stand strong in your femininity and leave your heart open to experience different things and people. Recognise that not everyone is the same. Not only can this trust aid you in letting go a little and knowing when to rest, but also, sharing your intimate sides can help others feel more connected to you.

Vulnerability influences sensitivity. This means that when you learn to be more vulnerable, you enhance your emotional resonance, by creating space for genuine emotional expression and connection which heightens emotional understanding. Vulnerability shows up in different ways, such as being able to ask for help or sharing your feelings or even actively listening to another person.

THE ART OF MINDFULNESS

Mindfulness requires intentional connection. Not only to the body and soul but to those of others. Mindfulness can happen through showing appreciativenessthrough a gratitude journal (for which you can find a great template at fullofnectar.com) or through considering those in your life through verbal acknowledgments, acts of kindness or even public recognition. This will usually help you in turn with trust as you will actively think about all the positive interactions that have taken place with people around you.

THE ART OF SELF-ASSURANCE

You should be able to express yourself. Rigid rules such as “never text a man first” or “always accept without doing much reciprocating” can do muchdamage to your relationships. This is especially true if these rules on how to act are not in your nature. You must keep in mind that whilst you are feminine, you are an individual first. This means that you have your own likes, dislikes and ways of showing appreciation. Thus, giving yourself no room for self expression leads to insecurity and feeling lost. This negative shift in energy will be felt by those around you as you will seem inflexible and awkward. You should be able to discern which parts of femininity work and do not work for you.

Another way to feel and act more self- assured is to stop trying to control others. This can be through trying to control their actions, what they think, how they perceive a situation or even how they perceive you. You are a strong and capable person who is nourishing and feeding her femininity. Insecurity through control only takes away from your power. Femininity does not attract everyone and is not attractive to everyone, no matter how masculine they may be. And so, doing this for a person’s affection is probably not the best reason.

THE ART OF DISCERNMENT

Now that we have covered a few sub-points of feminine energy, it is important to state that whilst these are all part of the actions of a soft feminine woman, none of these by themselves make a woman more or less feminine. By this, Imean that if you are not very self assured one day, and are in an energy where you fear judgment, that does not make you less feminine than you were yesterday. This is where discernment comes in: discernment relates to the aforementioned relinquishing of rules and trusting yourself to act appropriatelyin different situations. Following strict rules usually means that you will act less natural which in turn gives a less feminine and relaxed appearance. I know that this may seem hard to put into practice, so we have created confidence classes to help with the transition into a self-assured and empowered feminine woman!

And so, overall, the power of soft femininity lies in the power to challenge social norms by embracing qualities that have been characterised as weak. And redefining strength to include attribute such as sensitivity, empathy and mindfulness which in turn creates a safe space for the community around you.
